Why can’t essential oils be used on skin?

Essential oils are highly concentrated plant extracts that can have potent effects on the body. While they have been used for centuries for their therapeutic properties, it’s important to be cautious when using them topically on the skin. Undiluted essential oils can cause skin irritation, allergic reactions, and even chemical burns. Additionally, some essential oils can increase sensitivity to sunlight or interact with medication. It’s best to use essential oils under the guidance of a trained aromatherapist or healthcare professional and always dilute them with a carrier oil before applying to the skin.
